Tree-O Showcase

Tree-o Gallery is thrilled to announce the Featured Artist line-up for our 8th Showcase – opening on Saturday 13th November 2021 from 4-6pm

Our Showcase exhibitions contain finely crafted timber furniture by the resident trio alongside works by two (or more) locally based 2D &/or 3D artists. For details of upcoming events; watch this space, follow us on Facebook/Instagram or join our mailing list.

John Thiering’s new 2D works will adorn the gallery walls. His diverse new collection, entitled “Hypnagogia” (the state of consciousness between wakefulness and sleep), alludes to the dream-like subject matter of his paintings and describes the way in which his imagery and ideas surface from a state of semi-consciousness. John is also a magnificent sand artist and Tree-o Gallery hope to bring you news of a performance evening where guests can come along and experience this unique show. If you haven’t seen this, it is a must!

Colin Dray (Blacksmith) is an award-winning blacksmithing artist who works out of his workshop/studio in Bellingen. Using a hammer, anvil and fire, he creates beautiful and often practical pieces; sculptures, hat racks, door handles/knockers, coolamons, fire tools etc

Reanne Brewin (Ceramics) has been busy working on her Japanese inspired ceramics that will include innovative, functional and uniquely patterned pots, vessels, cups, bowls, platters and sushi serving sets that will add an earthy harmony to the space.

John Van Der Kolk (Sculptor) Working out of his Woolgoolga based workshop; accompanied by a kookaburra named Kev, friendly lorikeets, lunch-stealing sugar gliders and a new puppy to inspire him, we can’t wait to see what he has in store for us!

Two additional local artists will also have their Tree-o debut – Carmen Lee (gorgeous timber and hand-drawn pyrography pieces) and Linda Bizon (luxurious woven scarves and bookmarks).

Karen Tollan’s stunning jewellery range with a unique mix of bead, semi-precious stones and pearls, her necklaces, earrings, bracelets and talismans are a perfect addition to any outfit or space and a gorgeous gift idea!

King Fisher Loud Speakers will have a pair of their A16 speakers with Watergum veneer and a pair of SP15s with exposed ply sides on display and Myles and/or Trevor Oliver-King can demonstrate their superb sound quality by appointment.

Alongside the new works are specially selected pieces by a number of locally based artists that specialise in their field – superbly crafted timber jewellery and document boxes, mirrors, sculptures, cutting blocks and boards all resonating atop a variety of beautifully crafted timber furniture and other home décor pieces made in-house by the trio.

All visitors are required to check in using our Covid Safe QR Code and Proof of Vaccination, wear a mask and understand that a maximum of 30 guests at a time are allowed into the gallery space (depending on latest regulations). We have plenty of outdoor areas and a well ventilated workshop space for overflow. Please be advised that entry may be refused if you do not comply with the current government health guidelines.
