Tree-O Showcase

Tree-o Gallery is excited to announce the Featured Artist line-up for our 7th Showcase, which started on Saturday 3rd July 2021. Unfortunately, due to Covid restrictions we were unable to host our usual opening night event but we are hoping to be able to reschedule it sometime soon.

These Showcase exhibitions contain finely crafted timber furniture by the resident trio alongside works by two (or more) locally based 2D &/or 3D artists. For details of upcoming events; watch this space, follow us on Facebook/Instagram or join our mailing list.

Chris ‘Hewy’ Hewgill – Photographer – Chris’s photography features the beautiful Mid North Coast coastline from Nambucca Heads to Scott’s Head and from Bellingen to Coffs Harbour. Using Pentax DSLR cameras, lenses and a custom Dave Kelly underwater housing, Chris captures the colour and beauty of the ocean and estuaries above and below the water line.

Gloria Malone – Ceramics – Gloria is a local Bellingen-based ceramic artist. Working in porcelain, her main body of work is based on functional ware.  Specialising in gorgeous lampshades and tableware pieces, she loves producing works that people can use and enjoy everyday.  Inspiration for much of the new collection stems from the bushfires and the earthy colours have produced stunning results.

We will also have a selection of photography works by Bruce Jacups – his well focused shots feature the natural beauty of our local (and international) landscapes and suburbia are expertly framed (some with hand-made timber frames) that accentuate and complete each piece.

Karen Tollan’s jewellery collection will also remain with us for this next showcase – her stunning range and unique mix of bead, semi-precious stones and pearl necklaces, earrings, bracelets and talismans are a perfect addition to any outfit or space!

They will also be joined by the talented Matthew Borg. His one-of-a-kind imaginative boxes with little drawers; timber bookmarks and a hand-carved King Billy Pine mirror are certainly special pieces. However, the magic lamp prototype is a stand-out piece and will no doubt be a popular fascination with our visitors.

King Fisher Loud Speakers will have their prototype on display and Myles and/or Trevor Oliver-King can demonstrate their superb sound quality.

Two additional local artists will also have their Tree-o debut – Faye Thompson (glass engraving) and Michelle Klement (Rescued Wood Studio).

Alongside the new collection are specially selected pieces by – Ceri Frahm, Gyorgy Szerencsi, Tracey Suter, Phil Greed, Lloyd Tubb, Bruce Gilchrist, Sean Scanlain, Peter Sullivan and Les Turner – all resonating atop a variety of beautifully crafted timber furniture and other home décor pieces made by the trio.

All visitors are required to check in using our Covid Safe QR Code, wear a mask and understand that limited numbers may be allowed into the gallery at one time (depending on latest regulations). Please be advised that entry may be refused if you do not comply to the current government health guidelines.
